What Our Authors Say About

American Book Publishing After Their Books Have Been Published

Picking a publisher is kind of like picking a restaurant. You want an enjoyable experience; you want to get something out of it; you want to feel happy when you're done. Unlike a restaurant, however, a publisher is with you for the long haul. And most authors value their hard-wrought words more than a slice of pizza.

We at American Book Publishing expect no less of our authors. When you pick a restaurant, you ask people who have been there or perhaps read a review by a trusted food critic. When you pick a publisher, you want to make sure that the publisher's clients are happy -- and that the publishing world agrees too.

These pages include a litany of comments from our authors and from industry experts, and we hope it will convince you that American Book Publishing is the kind of publisher you want to work with. After years of hard work, we feel we have earned these author references and that our authors are proud to be American Book Publishing authors, and we're proud to pass their references about us on to you, a potential member of our publishing family. While we must be very selective of the titles we choose, we hope our body of work to date will impress the most talented authors too submit to us.

Please take the time to read all these author references, since we cannot put them all on one web page, please click the link at the bottom of each page to continue. There are ten pages in all with over a two hundred and fifty author & industry references provided over the past decade.

Visits to other book publisher web sites show that few publishers today can provide such quality references from a handful let alone the majority of their authors.

It is also very rare to see a book publisher willing to show you a an image of their book covers large enough to view the quality of their design or are willing to group their books in one place.

The following author and publishing industry references are direct quotes we have on file that we received from our authors and others after we have published their books.

“I was both amazed and pleased with all of my contacts at ABP.  From the initial contract signing to book production, I received prompt and personal attention during each stage of the process.  My editor provided me with excellent suggestions while respecting the integrity of my work, and she made the re-writing process easy.  My copy editor had the patience of Job as I seemed to find new corrections in each of the two PDF files before finalizing for the printer.  The book design was beautiful and the artist very adeptly incorporated all of my wishes.

Production kept me informed of the book's progress and approximate deadlines for the fast-tracking of my book, and I'm looking forward to working with marketing to make the most of rapid exposure for seasonal sales.  What a great learning experience!  I now hope for sales for reasons other than profit and entertaining readers.  I'm looking forward to a sequel and repeating the process!”

"I would like to thank everyone from editing; especially Allan McPherson and Amy Tackett for all their help and support.

They have been wonderful and I'm looking forward to working with them all again. I'm very grateful to Jana Rade for the beautiful book cover design. It is fantastic, an excellent job.

Everyone at American Book Publishing has been so supportive and gracious, making this first time author's work a most rewarding experience. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart."

"I could NOT have had a better, more professional experience publishing my book than I had with ABP. My editor Pam was as good as it gets, she had a passion for what I had written, professional and prompt and very encouraging. Just terrific.

Book design went over the top and captured the heart and soul of my book on the cover, Jana and her team just could not have done better, and Jennifer in production just keep things moving and on track, just made me feel important, which for a new author, is just what you need. Editing, suggestions, professional, helpful, thoughtful, engaged. I cannot thank the team at ABP enough."

"As an author who has written a book published by American Book Publishing, I was highly impressed with my finished product.  I would like to say that I did all the work, but the truth is that they helped me tremendously with the entire process.  I love my finished product and the response to it has been great.

The editor that was assigned to me, did an exceptional job in aiding me.  I was asked for input on the cover, but I did not feel as though I was alone in figuring it out.  It took a little more time than I thought the whole process would take, but you know what they say, "good things come to those who wait" , and my book is truly a good thing.  I would recommend American Book Publishing to anyone who has a work of art they would like to publish."

—Amanda Konery Author of Classic Driven Panic

"My editor, Susan Gilbert, performed a Herculean effort painstakingly reviewing line by line a document with many complex ideas, often laced with my proclivity to use jargon and slang where it does not belong. I deeply appreciate her patience and kindness
leading me through this first stage of the publishing process and answering my never-ending questions. She also enthusiastically reviewed and improved several companion documents (e.g., summaries, magazine article, questions, and answers) intended to
embellish and promote the book. Her insight and encouragement was invaluable.

I want to thank the staff of American Book Publishing, especially Nathan Fitzgearl, Director of Operations; Jeffrey Townsend, Director of Public Relations; Jana Rade, Director of Design; and Stella Jackson, Director of Editing Services for their able assistance. They had to endure my many questions and long e-mails as I attempted to understand the publishing system. Despite their frustrations, Nathan and Jeff should take satisfaction in that with their help, it took me only about two years to navigate the publishing system, whereas it took me nearly forty years to start to
understand the health system. Jana and her staff transformed my ethereal rambling description of the book's interrelated themes into an amazing visual graphic display that precisely captured the
desired context and message."

"I have great respect for the editors of my book, primary editor Norlan De Groot and copy editor Seamane Flanagan. They were very thorough and diligent. What made their work especially valuable is that they often went above and beyond the call of duty and made excellent suggestions for improving both the content and the effectiveness of the ideas being expressed. They became, in a sense, more than editors--they became partners in getting the important message being expressed in the book into the hands of the readers.

The design of the book was accomplished surprisingly quickly, and based upon their considerable experience in designing books, I believe they have produced a cover which will be a great help in selling the book."

“I have had a quality experience with American Book. My editor almost immediately developed a true sense of what I wanted the book to be. Her involvement made Raise the Sails a far better book than it might otherwise have become. Design and production have been imaginative and proficient. The marketing effort to this point is almost overwhelming me with sound advise and ideas.”.

“Thanks a lot for your note!  It has been a pleasure working with ABP so far.  My interaction with your editing team, designer and production team has exceeded my expectations.  I worked with two editors (Bethany Bassett & Stella Jackson) and their guidance has been of tremendous value in improving the quality of my book.  The cover design by Jana, the designer, exceeded my expectations.  Jenny, in production, was very prompt in her responses and we could complete the final edits in a very short time. I have filled and sent the questionnaire that was sent to me by PR team.  I will be responding to them within next 10 days.

Overall, my experience with ABP team has exceeded my expectations and I thank them for their support at each step.”

“This has been an awesome educational journey in writing, editing, patience and book marketing that is unbelievable. It has been a fantastic journey yet I realize the real journey is just beginning. I am happy to have my book published and represented by ABP because of the professional and sincere manner in which this entire project was handled from the beginning. I am extremely impressed with the design department and their ability to capture the essence of the book in picture form. Everyone that has looked at the cover remarks about its design.

Editing was a long and arduous task only because of the attention to detail and the desire to make the book an easy and enjoyable read.  I enjoyed working with my editor very much. She encouraged me all along the way and helped me see the deeper value of this book by her questions and suggestions. Anybody could have quickly edited it for punctuation and sentence structure but the editing department went much deeper than that which I know helped me create a wonderful product that I am very proud of; one that will be around for a very long time.

Thank you for taking me, an unknown author, and allowing me to fulfill God's call on my life.

I look forward to working with you for many years to come. I have several other book projects that will need you attention.”

—L.F. Low Author of Genuine Christianity

"I have been very pleased with the politeness, efficiency and especially, the creative contributions from the staff at ABP that have worked on my project. In particular, Connie Tucker's editorial work shone brightly, and Jennifer M. Blackwell-Yale and Jana Rade's services have been vital to the completion of my book. Congratulations to all for a job well done!"

“I am very impressed by the heart and professionalism behind your operation. My chief objective was to have a book that could make available to the great population of golfers ideas and theories about golf long time forgotten. I think it is vitally important that new authors find the right editor, who would encapsulate the main idea of the book among volumes of information and produce a quality product. American Book Publishing allowed me to preserve the Walter Hagen’s theory of the game and introduce it in modern language. You were cordial, professional and you really care for the author.”
