"It has been a long journey, this writing of my first novel, Jedediah, and a Tale of Revenge. I actually wrote the draft of the book almost ten years ago and submitted it to a host of prominent publishers. In answer I received thirty seven reject letters, most because I was an unpublished author. About two years ago, I was directed to American Book Publishing by a friend, and they expressed interest in the type book that I had written. At their request I sent them a copy of the manuscript and here came the contract. They treated me with respect and genuine interest from the beginning. It was a new experience for me, my journey into the world of published authors. I am convinced that I would not be in this select group of creative people today had I not met ABP. Thank you, dear people.

From the beginning I was encouraged by the director of operations and he paired me with Ms. Catherine Donaldson as my editor. This fine lady led me through the process of internet editing and it became a partnership. She corrected my grammar, and questioned my story from time to time, encouraging me to rewrite portions and add new explanatory sections.

Her interest, I felt was genuine, and she made me feel that ABP wanted to produce my novel. She encouraged and let me argue my case about sections of the manuscript, and I feel that we have put together a darn good story. If I write again, I want Catherine to be my editor.

I deeply appreciate the help given by Mr. Jeffrey T. Townsend, again and again, encouraging and explaining the marketing process.

Jana Rade did a magnificent job on the cover, letting me have all the input I could possibly ask for. Jana pulled it all together, far more than meeting my expectations. I appreciate the marketing summary on the back cover by Don Koenig who went out of his way to write a sparkling comment on my novel.

May I say finally, Thank you, everyone at American Book Publishing for making Jedediah, and a Tale of Revenge a reality. God bless you. I shall come again to your doors with a sequel as soon as it is finished."

"It was a seamless process from the first draft to the printer with this team of experts! They maintained close contact while steering me through each phase of the project, and the turnaround time was amazingly fast. Editorial re-writes managed to transform even the most boring and obscure passages with clarity and captivating style.  Design work for the layout of the text was just as I had imagined, but the book cover exceeded all my expectations. They’ve raised the bar well above their competitors in terms of credibility and quality."

"As a first-time novelist, I found American Book to be especially helpful. I am very pleased with the editing and design services and look forward to marketing and promotion. I am especially pleased with the consistent, thorough, and professional work of Wanda Morgan, my editor, who not only attended carefully to the manuscript but who also fielded my innumerable questions about the publishing process. Wanda is also proving helpful as promotional activities get underway.

I am also appreciative of the contributions of Jana Rade in Design, Jennifer Blackwell-Yale in Production, and Jeffrey Townsend in Marketing. These professionals have consistently been responsive to my needs as the publishing process unfolds. I look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with American Book."

"It has been a pleasure working with the staff at American Book Publishers. I will always appreciate their services to me a new author. After submitting my manuscript to publishing houses for almost two years with numerous rejections, to have someone accept the work was a moment I will never forget.

I will continue to write and it is because American Book Publishers gave me the courage by validating my voice. "

"I have found your editing, design, and production to be professional and dedicated.  All concerned have worked hard to produce a professional product.  Marlena Doucette did an exceptionally well job with the editing and made good recommendations for changes to improve the narrative.  I also believe that those involved with the design of the book cover provided sound guidance and did a good job creating the cover.  Overall, I think that the services were good."

"As a first-time author, it was a daunting task trying to find a publishing company that would take a professional interest in me as an author and in my book. I found American Book Publishing through the Internet and was impressed with the content of their website, the positive comments made by their published authors and their willingness to accept manuscripts from new authors.

From the beginning, it has been a wonderful journey working with a variety of talented and experienced personnel in the editing, design, production and marketing departments. It was a rewarding experience working with my assigned editor, Tamar Schmidt, who was willing to listen to my ideas and to offer suggestions to help add depth and insight to my novel. I appreciate very much her enthusiasm and encouragement throughout the entire editing process. I look forward to working with her again on my next novel!

The design department created a wonderful cover for my book which truly exceeded all of my expectations. Thank you to Jana Rade and Tim Jensen!

All personnel I have been associated with have been very experienced in their fields and have given me the direction and encouragement needed to transform my manuscript into a polished novel that I am very proud of. I particularly enjoyed the regular updates on how my book was progressing. They always kept me informed, showing that they genuinely care about their authors. I feel very privileged to have been given the opportunity of publishing my book with ABP. They are a wonderful publishing company and I recommend them most highly to any new author. I look forward to working with this talented team again!"

"I knew I had a good story when I sent it in to American Book, but thanks to their fantastic, author-friendly, personal editing services, I was able to find the exact story I wanted to tell.

My editor was careful to guide me in adjusting any confusions and providing professional advice, but he and American Book went out of their way to ensure that the work was my own throughout the whole process.

Besides that, their design team did a great job of listening to my advice and tailoring a cover that fit my tastes. Even after their first rendition didn't quite capture my vision, they happily reworked it until they gave me something that was even better than I could have imagined."

"American Book Company combines professional service along with friendly and courteous staff. The editing staff is extremely helpful in making a difficult process as clear as possible. I would recommend authors to submit their manuscripts to American Book for review. The professionalism and intimate candor that American Book provides its authors is uncommon in a world where intimacy is often a foreign word.

The personal and professional relationships that were gained by this venture will be long lasting. I appreciate the diligence and attention to detail that my editors provided. I can't wait to begin my next project and work with the fine professionals at American Book again."

"As a new writer, I found it incredibly difficult for anyone in the industry to even notice me, let alone sample some of my work. It seemed to be a closed shop until I came across ABP. At first I was skeptical, as I didn't want to involve myself in 'vanity publishing', but what I found instead was an opportunity to enter a whole new world - the world of publishing. After the initial excitement I discovered my editor actually wanted me to work - and work hard! Steering me to change my novel from an amateur piece with potential to, dare I say, the genuine article - a book I am not only proud of but one which deserves its place on YOUR bookshelf!

Aside from the editing, ABP heavily involved me in the design, so the cover is just how I wanted it, the final stages of production and now the marketing. I sincerely could not have wished for a better first experience, learning all the way and as long as you are willing to put the effort in, ABP will help and guide you to the finished product. Thank you ABP!!!"

"Working with the American Book Press has been a tremendous pleasure. Their experience and creativity in dealing with the complicated book market has been invaluable.

Their work in editing and designing my book has been fantastic, especially the professional cover design. Though they have very clear ideas about how to create books, they are very responsive to author's wishes and ideas. This is not a cookie cutter operation. Without their direction and encouragement, I would have gotten nowhere with this project. With their contribution, I've turned my manuscript into a book that I'm really proud of. I would definitely publish with them again."

"Although I was a first time, unknown author, American Book Publishing accepted my book for publication. The Author's Guide gave me a detailed explanation of the necessary steps required for publication. Through the expertise of my editor, Linda Casey, my writing was transformed from a simple manuscript to a polished, professionally written book.

The Design Department at American Book came up with a book cover design that, together with the title, can be described in two words; "mutually exclusive".

The Production Department worked hand-in-hand with me as I completed various tasks that were required to complete the publishing process.

I felt completely validated when American Book Publishing accepted my book for publication and would recommend them to anyone who has written a book."

"As with any industry, what worked yesterday may not work tomorrow. Through its innovative approach, I believe American Book Publishing is redefining the traditions of the publishing industry, and the mainstream publishing houses would be well-advised to take notice. From manuscript submission to  contract negotiation to the editing process, American Book Publishing has demonstrated to me a commitment to professionalism, quality, and ethics.

"I cannot express how much my editor at American Book Publishing has helped strengthen my manuscript. Throughout the rewrites, my editor worked very closely with me and helped transform it from a good story to a great story—I am truly amazed at how improved the manuscript is! At this point I feel that he is not only my editor, but my friend as well.

"As a new author, I was naturally concerned about the relationship that I would build with my editor. Would he or she be able to relate to my work and respect the way in which I had created the plot and characters of my novel? As I began working with Darcel Williams, I soon realized that my worries were unfounded. I am glad to have had the chance to work with Darcel. She did an absolutely magnificent job of editing my manuscript. Her comments were very helpful and insightful. Once implemented, they made my novel significantly more fluent and readable. I was pleased to find that Darcel understood my work, my own ideas, and my comments. She is truly a professional and a pleasure to work with. In the future, I would welcome the opportunity to work with her again."

"When I first read the memo from editor Craig Bida, I was pretty upset. He was taking this product of my soul and butchering it! Then I read the edited text. Craig has done a wonderful job! He makes me sound even more brilliant than I could ever claim to be. I'm just a guy who has always believed that it is better to work smarter rather than harder. It's an even shorter book now, but it is a wonderfully concise guide to effective development projects."

“In recent months, I have had the good fortune of working with Ann Marie Letourneau on my long biography, A Lifetime in the Eye of the Storm. She is a wonderful editor. I am not merely referring to her professional and flawless editing, which comes from a keen attention to detail. Beyond her astuteness in suggesting changes and her unerring sense of balance, she has what great editing is about—the total grasp of the author’s vision, and the ability and desire to help the latter in his ambition to impart that vision.

Behind any published work of an author, a seasoned publisher or critic recognizes the editor. I will always be happy to give recognition to the outstanding quality of Ann Marie’s editing in this biography, and I hope in my other works soon to be published by American Book Publishing.”

"I have appreciated the professional approach of the ABP staff . They take their work seriously and are good at what they do. I know that my book presented
special and unique challenges because of the size of the manuscript, but every problem was promptly addressed and solved in the best possible way. I especially appreciated the outstanding work of Jana Rade, who designed the cover, of Bonnie S. Darrington, the copy editor, and of Jennifer Blackwell-Yale who did the final production formatting and prepared the manuscript for the printer.

Their work was done cheerfully and professionally. Jeffrey Townsend, who has been encouraging me in the development of my marketing plan, has given me some great insights into how to give my book visibility and give it every fair chance to succeed.

From time to time I was frustrated that all communication was by e-mail, but in the final analysis, that proved to be in the best interest of all of us. Thank you for what you have done. I look forward to continuing a pleasant and productive relationship."

"Being an amateur writer with "Liquid Courage" being my first work, I had no Idea of how to began locating someone to make my life long dream come true. I've always dreamed of writing a fiction novel. I searched the Internet for a company that could take my manuscript and develop it into a completed book. The Internet was filled with web sites of book companies willing to turn my rough draft into a finished book. I contacted many sites for information. I was much impressed when the Director of Operations, of American-book publishing and the literature of how the American-book's staff worked closely with the author.

Harlow Keith was my editor. He worked many days and nights turning my rough draft into a story that the reader could follow. Once he completed the last edit of "Liquid Courage," the flow of the story was great. Harlow went way beyond the call of duty to help me. I'll have to tell you; he had his hands full with my incorrect spelling, grammar, sentence structure, and my patients. Thanks Harlow for your great editing expertise. I also would like to thank Bill Milnazik for the design of my book, Jana Rade, who came up with a great cover, Diane who worked with me in the design area, and kept me updated on the status of my book. Heather has also been helpful. To put all this in prospective, the complete staff was nice, courteous, and very knowledgeable. They were always there to answer my questions--large or small."

"I never imagined that it took so much into putting a book together and preparing it for it's release. I have been very impressed with everything from the editing, designing and professionalism that your staff has exhibited throughout this entire process. I'm sure that with the numerous submissions that you receive that it can be at times somewhat over whelming by those who represent ABP. I would just like to let you know that I am very grateful to all of you who have taken the time to help make one of my dreams a reality. Once again thank you and your staff for everything and I look forward to working with you again in the near future."

"I am particularly pleased with the editing services provided by ABP, in that although many of my sentences were restructured, the real context of what I was saying was not changed in the least bit. In going through all the changes made by my editor (Jen Duder), I have managed to sharpen up significantly on my writing skills in my subsequent books, (I have completed three more books since then), and believe very much that I am indeed now a much better writer."

"The goal of American Book Publishing is to publish quality books. They choose their authors carefully. The editors are chosen to enhance the authors' thoughts and ideas into a finished product that will not be forgotten. My editor (Harlow J. Keith) did just that.

Next up, Jana Rade of the Design Department did a wonderful job fulfilling what I would like for the cover design of my book, "Walking Down The Wrong Path." The cover designer of my book, Tim Jensen, (an
extremely talented artist) went far beyond what I asked for and created a, "masterpiece" for my cover. After the editing was finished, I discovered there was a computer glitz and many corrections had to be made on my manuscript. Book Production Manager, Jennifer M. Blackwell-Yale came to the rescue.

The Marketing Department works with the author to make sure the final product will be distributed
properly. Jeffrey Townsend uses his skills to accomplish this with his courteous and respectful communications."

"I had a spectacular and rewarding experience working with Katie Parker, my editor. Over the time we worked together she taught me numerous tips and tricks to self editing and taught me to question every aspect of my novel.

Sarah A. Skinner, the cover designer did a fantastic job in creating nearly lifelike images of my main characters, and did it in such a dark and sinister way as to go along with the premise of 'Hell's Gates swinging wide."

"I am much obliged to American Book Publishing Group for their expert editing and design of my book "The Lion of Saint Catharine". To my surprise -- having worked with some less that efficient publishers -- ABP remained in close contact with me via email from the beginning. Editing the book was exceptionally well done and professional. The editing process was even more than I expected -- not only correcting all grammatical mistakes but suggesting certain changes that almost always proved to be useful and were incorporated into the final text.

As for the art work -- wow! I never expected such a powerful and evocative cover. I've published books on commercial presses that have given me much less attention and service. Just so you know these words aren't from an amateur, I'm the author of "Appalachian Genesis" and "The Hogs of Cold Harbor", the latter endorsed by no less than America's last living literary lion Norman Mailer, winner of two Pulitzer Prizes and The National Book Award.

ABP is a great publishing outfit and I highly recommend it to any author with a salable product who has enough faith in his or her work to help turn it into a good seller if not a best seller."

"My life-long dream of becoming a published author has come true thanks to American Book Publishing. They believed in me which has helped me believe in myself. Being assigned a full-time editor was an extremely rewarding experience. His personal interest in my novel, as well as myself, was remarkable. The design team worked diligently to come up with the perfect cover--and they did exactly that. As far as the production and marketing departments, their support continues to amaze me. I have been sent media listings, given great advice, and even pushed when I needed to be. I will forever be in debt to the staff of American Book Publishing."

"The [book publishing] journey was exceptionally professional.  The editing was helpful, in that the editor commented on the text as well as suggesting great improvements to the message and style.  The design was quick and, I believe, looks good and eye-catching.

The marketing suggestions and the suggested readings were excellent and useful in putting together a plan to get the books into the market."
