"I want
to thank the entire staff of American Book Publishing for a job well done in
publishing my book, "The Mysterious Virtues of Paul Abanda". The publication
of this book has opened a new chapter in my life. It provides the world an
opportunity to read about the dwindling African culture that seemed lost and
forgotten. The Editing Department under the leadership of the Editing Director
has done a superb job in transforming my manuscript into one of the greatest
books of the 21st century. I appreciate the thoroughness, and methodic
approach applied during the editing process. The Design department led by the
Design Director performed a wonderful job. The cover accurately conveys the
content of the book. The cover represents ingenuity, imagination, abstraction
and creativity. The visual 'look and feel' truly represents my book.
The Production Department refined the format
with an ergonomic appeal-touch. I am delighted with the results. The marketing
Department has started working with me on my marketing plan. The Department
provided me with references, documentation and a roadmap to market my book. I
have
learned through the process of working with the Department that a well-thought
and planned marketing strategy is the key to the success of any publication. I
look forward to an aggressive flawless marketing strategy to bring my book to
a best seller.
I want to use this rare opportunity to share with the world the wonderful job
and expertise of the staff of American Book Publishing. The process has
motivated me to write more and to establish myself as a professional writer
going forward. I believe this symbiosis relationship will bring to light some
of the wonders that remain buried in the continent of Africa. It is time for
me to take one more step to encourage those caring for the sick, and working
with HIV/AIDS patients throughout the world. I want to do so through my
writing. I hold hope that with the help of others such as American Book
Publishing, we will find a cure for HIV/AIDS."
"Without the support and guidance of
American Book Publishing staff; the Ancient Treils would still be a dream. I
cannot say enough about my editor Angela Hayes and the rest of the dedicate
people that worked so hard in the production of The Ancient Treils. I will
forever be grateful for the opportunity American Books Publishing has given
me.
I have learned so much and continue to
receive support in marketing, which can be very overwhelming for new authors.
My hat is off to American Book Publishing. I would recommend them highly for
any endeavor you may wish to become reality."
"Amy Tackett was assigned to work with me
and I couldn't have been more pleased. If I simply had to wait nine months
until she was available, it was worth it. The story is many times better than
how it started out because of her guidance and prodding.
I was immediately please with Jana Rade's work.
She listened to my ideas and then created a cover that was everything and more
than what I hoped it would be."
"I have enjoyed working with my editor, David Murphy. He was
thorough and knowledgeable. I learned a lot about writing from him. The cover
design for my book is outstanding. Everyone I have shown it to has felt that
it is very eye-catching."
"I
would like to express my sincere appreciation for all the help and
encouragement I have had from American Book Publishing Co... everyone has
been most helpful. Up until this time there wasn't much need for
extensive contact with departments other than editing. However, my
editor, Marianne Grace, was outstanding and went above and beyond to
help me get the book to a presentable state. As a first time author I
had and still have many questions but your organization has been helping me
to find the answers. If this book is a success it will be thanks to
many at your publishing company but particularly my editor."
"I have enjoyed working with my
editor, copy editor, book designer and publicist at American Book Publishing.
The service has been very good and professional. They have all in various ways
thought me something new about the publishing business."
"When
you paired me up with Allan McPherson things began to happen and very quickly.I have the greatest admiration for his work and the way he steered me
in the right direction."
“My
editor, was thorough and seemed to take much more time and care in helping
polish the final drafts... She was also very quick in responding (via email)
to my many questions and concerns.”
“Things
went well with editing, very well. Getting the book cover done was so fast I
couldn't believe it. You've given me a great book and have brought me to a
place in publishing I wouldn't have gotten to without you. I personally think
you guys are great.
I wanted to send
out for lunch for everyone at the office, but it sounds like it wouldn't be
practical, so I'll just send my thanks and good cheer. I'm an ABP person and
will be. You can use me for your poster child if you want, I'm your most
staunch supporter.”
“Well,
I have nothing but raves about my editor. She was wonderful to work
with--professional and personable--and she *got* me which meant a lot to me
while going through the process.I know that my book is so much better because of her
suggestions and direction--especially for a first time author like myself.”
“I
am very pleased with your system of editing and the quality of editing work
done by Lisa. She is a very alert reader and a talented critic. It has been a
pleasure working with her and also a big help for me in many ways. She has
taught me how to write more descriptively and more succinctly. I'm sure it has
become a much easier reading novel.”
"WOWWWWW!Oh my!I love it!!!Thank you Thank you!I am
so excited it is awesome.Please
pass on my appreciation and gratitude for everyone that designed this (the
cover)! It was exactly how I dreamed of!
My experience with
American Book Publishing has been nothing less than outstanding. As I go through each stage of getting my book published, I have been
continually satisfied with the professionalism and prompt service from
everyone involved.The attention
put into every detail has been impressive.
Also
wanted to thank you for fielding all my questions and concerns .....you've
made the first step in this venture very easy and pleasurable!”
"I have been
continuously pleased by the efforts, professionalism, and thoroughness from
everyone involved with the publication of Blinded By Rainbows at
American Book
Publishing. Everyone has made my first experience as an author outstanding.
Thank you so much for all your hard work to seeing my dreams become a
reality."
"I am very content with the way ABP has handled my manuscript. The editing
process has been a friendly dialog and a fine learning experience for me. The design is an attractive and creative version of my own wishes. The marketing has just started but it seems dynamic and creative. I look forward to collaborating about it the next few months."
"The editing, design and production of my book by ABP has been good, I am satisfied with it.
.. the over all experience has been great and I hope to continue a great relationship with ABP."
"Now that we are somewhat settled into our very comfortable 1900 home
in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, I have been working on my sixth
book, and thought now is the time to ask, and submit my fifth book to you for
review.
I'm very pleased, and excited about this book,
'Halfmoon on the Mississippi
River,' it is a spin off of 'Trail of Broken Chains'. I feel this latest book
is my favorite, and I want you, and American Books to be my publisher.
Since my first dealing with American Books, I have felt very secure, and
proud to tell people when they ask me who is my publisher. There is no other
publisher who can take my manuscript from the beginning and do what you can
do.
Your editors, and your cover designers are great, and when I like
something, or someone, I do not change directions in the middle of the stream.
I would be honored as the times before if you would review my manuscript
for publishing."
"We
found our editor to be quite helpful during the process of editing The
Otherhood.The points he raised,
and the suggestions he made, were usually right on target.Even in those rare instances where we differed in what we thought was
best, once we had explained our rationale and made some minor adjustments he
was accepting of our point of view when it was warranted. It became obvious upon our first communication with him that he'd not
only read the book, but understood the nuances and subtleties of the somewhat
complex plot.We'd gladly work
with him again, should American Book choose to publish our next venture, now
tentatively titled The Externalist."

"We
(her editor) seem to communicate very well, and I certainly appreciate the
attention she has given my book. No doubt she has made an invaluable
contribution to the final product - I do not profess to always word every
sentence correctly! I also think the process of e-mail is extremely
convenient."
"Being first
time authors, American Book has had extra patience with us in different
departments. Our editor was very compliant to our requests when we did not
like the way things were going. And, began to understand that both of us
having full time jobs did not leave as much time for the book as we had
anticipated.
Although the cover design was the hardest challenge for us. We could not find
one that we both thought fit, and Jana worked right along side us. Working
tirelessly until we were happy. And, we went through many rough drafts before
we finally found the "perfect" one. We are very grateful for the patience from
our editor and Jana, because the book looks GREAT!"
"I'm not sure that I could ever adequately
acknowledge people like those I've mentioned. I can only thank them and hope
they continue to have a positive impact on others around them. In addition,
I'm grateful to my publisher and, in particular, to my editor, Laura Raitman.
It is through her guidance and expertise that I'm able to share this
"Christmas tale" of mine with you".
"My experience with the various departments of ABP is satisfactory and I am
grateful to each one of them for their help and co-ordination to bring my book to the print. It is a dream for every new writer to see his or her book in print and I am looking forward to see that dream come true. Thanks once again."
"My experience with Craig Hutchison in editing was great!
Craig has shown a personal interest in this project and has said this will be a great story that can help
many people. He was quick with each reply I sent to him and patient as I struggled through this, my first
writing project. Kudos to Craig.
Jana Rade was also meticulous in her work on the
design and offered her thoughts on what I had
presented and what the design department suggested for this book. Each question I asked was addressed quickly
and fully."
"American Book Publishers far exceeded my expectations. The editing
was a careful process, the design and artwork also went beyond my hopes. And
as far as promotional help, ABP does what it can to ensure the success of the
project. ABP...Thank You!!! Mr. Fitzgearl, I am totally happy with this
project and am looking forward to the next."
"Your editing department was just wonderful. They are not only gifted
in their abilities to edit and fine tune, they were an outstanding group to
just work with. Being a new writer is difficult at best, but I felt more
confident when working with this staff.
Your design department was outstanding. I sent in a graphic (2-dimensional)
of The Planet Star itself, but I never had a real handle on what it should
look like, but they did. They were really helpful, highly imaginative, and
very kind, as was your production department.
Even when I felt like I wanted to panic, they were on top of things, and
helped me to keep my head. Your marketing department was also very helpful,
and I was able to get a handle on marketing, an area that is very much over my
head. I was glad to get Jeff's advice, and I had to say that he was very
helpful in helping me to get a plan together. I shall always think of and
remember American Book Publishing with gratitude, and a sincere thank
you."
" The editing support provided by the American Book Publishing was
excellent. I am thankful for the insights provided as well as the attention to
detail. I'd be happy to work with the team again." Thanks again for your
support."
"My editor, Michele Harmon, was uniformly upbeat,
caring and kind. She always made every effort to be accommodating and always
made the project feel very special. She also never lost her sense of humor,
something that we both relied on to keep our sanity at times. I will always
appreciate her gentleness
and spirit of involvement.
Diane Black, Production Manager, also contributed to the process and hung in
there with Michele and I when we needed her. I appreciate her efforts. I was
very pleased with my cover. The colors captured the effect that I wished to
see and the fade off was a very nice touch. Jana Rade, Director of Design,
made every effort to be accommodating."
"I’d like to thank American Book
Publishing for their
professionalism in handling my novel. The company set
clear and concise goals with a timeline to direct the
process to completion. There wasn’t a time when I
felt unsure about my role, which is a testament of
their communication and commitment to their authors.
Personally I’m grateful to have been assigned a
talented editor who not only enhanced my story, but
also came up with my novel’s interesting title.
Finally, I can’t say enough about the intriguing cover
art that immediately draws attention to my work. Once
again, thanks to all at American Book Publishing."
"The operational support and experience I had with American Book was
outstanding. The feedback and recommendations from my editor produced a book,
which without hesitation is the ‘best it can be”. She offered
recommendations on content I had not envisioned when I wrote the original
manuscript. I was very pleased with the final product.
As the author, I also had direct input into the cover design. Not only was
it consistent with my input, it surpassed my expectations. I thoroughly
enjoyed the American Book journey. At Jeff’s request, I previously committed to a rough draft
[of the book marketing plan] by the end of July. I have been traveling extensively so I will forward it to him shortly."
"I have always wanted to write as far back as I could remember. The
big problem was being too afraid of rejection when I was ready for taking the
next step. Finding American Book Publishing was the thing that put my mind at
ease as much as could be.
They are extremely professional, yet very patient in teaching a first-time
writer. The editor I had, S.R. (Name protected to keep her for myself if at
all possible), walked through my manuscript one word at a time and helped to
transform it into a piece of work I am very proud of. I cannot wait to send
them my next ten books."
"Like most fledgling authors, I received my share of
rejections...mostly to the tune of "You are very brave to write this
controversial story, but it doesn't fit our lists"....yet ABP had the
courage to offer me a publishing contract. My manuscript, conceived through
visions and dreams supported with scrupulous research, needed to be honed from
it's large, ungainly state into a saleable novel.
Fortunately my assigned editor, MaryBryan Howe, polished the rough stone of
my creation into a fine gem. Working together for over a year, we learned each
other's rhythm so well to become partners in the well choreographed dance of
publishing. MaryBryan provided compassionate critique, helping me trim the
excess without unraveling the story.
Besides blessing the process with her excellent editing expertise,
MaryBryan understands me as a writer, encouraging my expression, empowering me
to be my best. My preconceived notion of editing was akin to going to the
dentist, painful but necessary, yet MaryBryan midwife my "baby"
with loving finesse.
In the midst of editing, I began working with design. Jana Rade, director
of design, was open to all my suggestions and concerns, taking my vision of
Mary Magdalen---the heroine of my story---and creating an amazing cover so
sultry and alluring that readers will not be able to resist delving into the
passionate tale of the Divine Daughter... I have learned so much that the
second book of the LoveDance trilogy will be much more carefully crafted.
Although thoroughly reading the Author's Guide cover to cover and drafting a
book promotion plan six months after signing the ABP contract, I have spent
every free moment since researching book promotion. After reading every book
on publicity I could get my hands on, subscribing to countless PR newsletters,
attending weekly teleseminars, I am now in the hands of marketing. I look
forward to a fantastic launch and continued support from ABP. The time is ripe
for the world to receive my finest creation, LoveDance: Awakening the Divine
Daughter."
